We are tired of the Zuck and Elon circlejerk.
We are fed up with the internet///media as it stands today, and we want to watch it burn.
That’s where bottlerag.org comes in: a platform, a community, a rebellion where making art, making noise, and lifting each other up are our ways of fighting back.
This is our community’s middle finger to the corporate, ill-democratized, capitalistic hellscape we’re all stuck in. This space is for the artists, the agitators, the ones tired of being told to wait and be patient. If you’re here, it’s because you see it too: the system is broken (maybe beyond repair)– And we’re not here to fix it. We’re here to tear it down.
If that’s where your head’s at, you’re in the right place.
So what is this? What are we doing here?
~This~ is something both old and new. bottlerag.org is like an online magazine for Denver Zoomers who didn’t move here. It’s a blog. It’s a radio station. It’s a multimedia playground. It’s a site that promotes local artists of all kinds.
What you’ll find here isn’t just another collection of articles, random playlists, or galleries (though you will find some of that). This is a living and breathing network of creators and thinkers. People who see art as the only real way out, the only way to resist and find connection in a world determined to divide. Our blog, future forums, galleries, events, and 24/7 radio will be open invitations for you to step in, make your mark, and bring your boldest, most unrestrained ideas to life. Because we’re done standing by while the world crumbles—we’re here to tear apart the façade and build something that matters.
What we are doing is ultimately political, but it’s also maybe just fucking around. Our mission is to ground people in the local scene. We want to bring people’s eyes and ears to the creators near them. We want to provide a platform for local writers to write about the things they care about. We want to produce digital media because it’s what we like to do and we might as well try to make a statement while we do it.
Our vision? Simple: to make noise that echoes, to keep the lights on 24/7 with stories, songs, sounds, and art that say what we’re all feeling and fight for what matters to us.
So, contribute to a gallery, start a conversation in the forum, get wild with a DJ set, or call in to the radio show. This is a place where your voice matters, where each piece of art and each shared idea fuels a collective movement. You’re not alone here—this is community-driven, unfiltered creativity for those who refuse to be silenced.
Yours for a while,
The Editors
